Hello Richard Woops - I should have written 'postperson'!! I can see now why she cannot wait to retire - all these little parcels having to be carried to at least one address!! Kind regards Bruce (150) #659 17 June 2015

Here are a couple of Dinky Toys that arrived today (from different sellers): The Hillman Minx is almost mint except for a rub on the roof. It is the 'high line' masking of the roof colour. It came from 'just up the road' from Bruce (almost = McKay). The second item(s) is a mint Leyland Comet Portland Cement. The eBay seller offered the lorry and box in separate Lots - very annoying. I don't think the ploy worked as the overall price was reasonable. A while back another eBay seller had a 666 Missile 'set' where the truck unit was one lot, the box another, the packing pieces another, the launching pad yet another! Ron F

Ron, I second that motion from Richard! An excellent catch, especially with the 'highline' Hillman Minx! Kind regards Bruce (150) #675 26 June 2015

Dave What an absolutely splendid acquisition! I presume all luxuries are out for the present and that you are now on a bread and water diet to pay for it! To think you not only have the model, but you also have its box, and to boot, the original leaflet that came with it! If you could see me now you would see a nice shade of green! All I have is this: I guess it is better than nothing! (So I can hear someone say, be grateful!) I have just noticed something - the word MASON on mine is thicker than yours. Crikey - must dig it out and see if I spent my cash on a lousy restoration! Are the rear doors on your plastic? Just noticed the word PAINT on the roof sign appears larger on mine than yours. Now you have really got me wondering! Kind regards Bruce (150) #683 27 June 2015

Dave, Not wanting to cause trouble but I would have a word with the auction house. It looks to me to be a repaint and photocopy green card and box. If you google image they all show the masking is nowhere near as precise and the green card is much sharper. Again, I may be wrong, but just my observation.

Dave As a result of what 'Finja' wrote, I had another look at you acquisition, and I must agree with him that something is not quite right especially the leaflet and the box at least. The following are two Mason vans sold through auction in recent times which you may use to confirm with your acquisition. I may have been a little too hasty with my original response so I urge you to have another look at these. At least have a closer look at the leaflet. One thing I have noticed is that the lettering of my MASON on the side of the van is similar to the above images. I hope it is just a poor photograph of your acquisition for your sake and not a reproduction. Kind regards Bruce (150) #684 27 June 2015

I have never had another one in my hand before, so it is nice to see that these are not replacements. Kind regards Bruce (150) #685 27 June 2015
