Richard.....That looks very nice! I don't normally buy the later Dinky's, so do not know much about them either, but maybe you got a rare one! Regards, Terry

Hi, for me it was a happy moment to see two Dinky figures sets arrive. Their history goes back to the early Modelled Miniatures years, but these are the slightly smaller post-1939 versions. The no. 1 Station Staff in its appearance of 1952-1954 and the same no. 4 Engineering Staff. The green labelled boxes are lower than the pre-1952 boxes and the figures aren't tied up with a cord anymore, but held in place by the double folded perforated inner card board. They are not renumbered into respectively 001 and 004 yet. Both boxes and contents are in very nice, unused condition. I will show and discuss these some more in the correct theads at a suitable moment. Kind regards, Jan

Jan---Very nice sets of Dinky figures, and congratulations on getting them. I also have a few sets, similar to yours, and only wish that I had paid more attention to the various sets when I was younger, and able to buy them new. They all have a certain charm all of their own, the pre-war versions even more so, with their hand painted details. Looking forward to your always nicely done, detailed reports a little later. Best regards, Terry

Here is my latest arrival which is a 29b Streamlined Bus with a paint sample label attached. Interestingly I don't think this colour scheme was actually used, hence the label has not been signed and date stamped as all the other similar samples I have seen. Dave

An amazing addition, Dave! Although a beautiful colour combination, this one will not have been approved and produced indeed, never seen this colour scheme. It is remarkable that all label descriptions of these 1940s colour proofs seem to have been written in the same characteristic hand. Kind regards, Jan

It certainly has never been played with, I am pretty sure that the string on the tag has been replaced at some time, but the label and the bus would definitely appear to be absolutely genuine. Dave

You wait absolutely ages to find 1 and then 2 come along at the same time Nabisco had an offer in the early 1960s with their Shredded Wheat cerials whereby if you collected 10 tokens from the end of the box you could send them off and get a free Dinky Toy - happy days!! Here are 2 Nabisco 181 Volkswagens which I bought last week in the same auction, I am piecing information together about the Nabisco special offer and will publish it in the new-year. Dave
