Hi all,
Couldn ' t agree more,
personally I have really learned
from
this thread,
and have added all the unknown to me variations to my big Dinky list,
including Bruce ' s.To be fair I think Jacques was only trying to say how many wheel variations there are rather than trying to purposely upset Bruce,
but it was very unfair to say it in that way.I was an early member of the MCCH (Matchbox Collectors Community Hall) when it was the best diecast site around,
many years ago,
thanks to bickering
and arguments between members it is now dead in the water,
Please don ' t let that happen here ! Chris Warr.

Hubs
and tires make up wheels.I hope the tire variations on the 23a Racing Cars on the picture below are special enough for this article. To me they are.Rob

This will be my last post based on my current pictures.I have to take more pictures first.Among them some rarities like a grass green 40a Riley with red hubs,
in poor condtion,
but very rare.
And a 958 Snowplough with yellow plastic hubs.On the picture below a 161 Somerset in blue with cream hubs
and a 36a with blue hubs. The black 40b Triumph just happens to be on this picture as well.Rare,
but nothing special as far as the wheels are concerned.Rob

Wonderful Rob ! How those 23a coloured tyres have survived 70 + years is amazing. Most of my Pre War whites have flat spots.Your Black 40b is a lot nicer than mine too.Chris Warr.

Reading the very nice (!) Article on Guy Warriors,
I noticed two models
from
my collection were missing.First the 432 Guy Flat Truck with green wheels in stead of the usual red.See picture below.Second the 958 Snowplough with yellow plastic hubs.A picture will follow later. If the writer of the Article wishes to include these variations,
I can provide more pictures if needed.Rob

As promised a picture of the 958 Guy Warrior Snowplough with plastic hubs. Before knowing about this late variation,
I would have expected it to have a silver plough.Obviously it has not.Rob

Has the Albion Multibucket (966) issued in December 1960 always been fitted with plastic hubs.If so the introduction date of these hubs must be 12 -1960.This must be the last batch of ploughs made in 1965 but why not with the silver plough which was cheaper ?

Yes as far as I know the 966 always has plastic hubs. Why the last batch Snowplough was not fitted with a silver plough I do not know.Perhaps Dinky wanted to give a last sales boost using the black / yellow plough again.(Nicer than the silver one) Rob

As far as I know the wheel variations on the Guy Vixen models are mainly limited to black
or colored ridged hubs opposed to Supertoy wheels.Recently I found a 512 in orange / green with dark green hubs. These hubs have the same color as the 512 in khaki with a black chassis. Also the box is earlier than the boxes of my other two models.Perhaps it comes
from
the first production batch.Later I also found a 512 orange / green with Supertoy wheels. The box on that model is a bit smaller than the other two.Together they make a nice display for this topic.Rob

Rob Does the interior of the box lid for the three Guys have a rubber stamp with letters
and numbers ? If so,
what do they state ? If not on the interior,
check the outside bottom,
although in this location,
the blue covering is usually a lighter blue.Secondly,
I presume the model with the Supertoy grooved hubs is a type 1 chassis.Bruce
