Beautiful box + contents, Jonathan. No doubt you have been searching for pictures showing a (seemingly) originally strung set in order to restore the official composition of your set. I did not find one, anyway. With some patience it may show up some time, or someone else on the forum may know. Kind regards, Jan

Yes, the detail on these sets was amazing. Ive read of other companies (Britains?) where the fine detailing was actually done by employees working at home on a piecework basis. However it was done for Meccano Ltd., this human touch means that none of these figures is exactly alike! As you say, Jan, a picture of the original presentation and stringing for the set would be useful. I have not been able to locate one either!

Wow, you must be very happy indeed with this wonderful model, Kevin! Box and model are in fantastic shape - and discolouration of the transfers on these older French Dinky Toys is virtually inevitable. Congratulations and kind regards, Jan

The transporter is one I wanted for a long time too until I got one. (Beware -- the weight of the trailer will flatten its tyres if they are not elevated, especially if you display it with cars on board. I found this out the hard way.) Meantime, I had an arrival today as well. I had wanted one of these one-year wonders to put to work for a long, long time. (I was aware of it even when 'new' but Dinky Toys were essentially unavailable in the U.S. in 1970.) This one has no box, but she'll do.

Richard, of course I looked at the Encyclopaedia, and my figures are in the same order as the prewar examples shown there. But, the pictures Jacques used do not show tied-down figures, so I would still like to see an original set that has not been unstrung.

The Joseph Mason van and the fire station personnel, two of my favorite Dinky Toy items ever!!Ive had a Mason van for a few years, and honestly dont remember what I paid, but as the old advertising slogan went, the quality remains long after the price is forgotten.

G'day Gents Two great lots arrived this week. One local, one international. I didn't think I'd ever get a Joseph Mason Paints Mini but this one turned up at a reasonable price, only thing missing is the Paints sign from the headboard. Further angles on all these items can be found at the bottom of the page at the link below.

My other arrivals from the last year or so are at this link:

That's quite a fleet of additions, Dave. Many of them quite interesting. An addition of mine worth mentioning is a brown companion to my dark green Vauxhall, no. 30d. It is in wonderful near mint condition, very shiny axles, a lot of plate on the grill still surviving. Other remarkable characteristics are the original silver painted hubs and the early finely treaded tyres. Contrary to the green one with its open base plate this examples' base plate is closed, so slightly later post-war. Kind regards, Jan
