With pleasure, Terry. As an example to show how I have arranged my collection, I have selected the drawer containing my 23 Racing Cars, formed after Capt. Eyston

My newly created small display for changing exhibits:
A simple design, just empty one shallow book shelf under the stairs, cloth the interior with some nice matching velvet and put a snugly fitting piece of glass in front of it (removed on the zoomed-in photos). it's the only appearance of Dinky Toys in my living room, a small 'window' to the actual collection, also for ship models and whatever special, displayable items. Because the conditions of conservation are not as optimal as in my hobby room, I intend to change the contents about every month. A nice temporary closer look to some selected items! Kind regards, Jan

Hi all, I am making the first steps these days in preparing and designing my contribution for the golden jubilee NAMAC exhibition, to be held in the splendid Louwman Museum on automobile history, The Hague, in July 2015. Just thought that you might like to view one trial configuration for a display shelf showing a selection of Anglo-French Dinky Toys counterparts. The end result of this process will have a much more professional looks than this quick experiment, no doubt! About 100 of my Dinky Toys will be on display. Over 100 contributors will show their miniature cars on this unique anniversary occasion!
Kind regards, Jan

Hi Ronald, I made an announcement under the 'events' header some time ago. The link there seems to be dead now, but it's easy to google NAMAC and find more details there. Anyway, the exhibition is to be viewed from 1 July - 9 August 2015, in the Louwman Museum.
Great Hall of the museum From Wikipedia: 'The collection of over two hundred cars has been assembled since 1934 by two generations of the Louwman family. It is the oldest private collection of automobiles in the world open to the public. The collection was founded in 1934 with the purchase of a 20 year-old Dodge by Dodge importer Pieter Louwman, the father of the current owner. In 1969, the collection of Mr. Geerlig Riemer was added. Riemer was also founder of the Institute for Automotive and Management (IVA) in Driebergen. The building which used to house Riemer's collection has since been used as a practical center for the IVA. The current owner of the collection is Evert Louwman, the Dutch importer of Lexus, Toyota and Suzuki. In 1969 the collection was moved to Leidschendam to the newly opened National Automobile Museum. In 1981 the museum was moved to a new location on the property of importer Louwman & Parqui in Raamsdonksveer. On 18 April 2003 the name 'Louwman Collection' was adopted. The collection is internationally oriented and consists of over 230 automobiles. From the period up to 1910 the museum has the largest collection of cars in the world. The museum displays a large collection of the current remaining 15 classic cars of the Dutch brand Spyker and the only remaining Eysink (a car-brand from Amersfoort). In the former museum of Raamsdonksveer these Dutch cars used to be displayed at the so-called 'Trompenburg Square' with original fence of the original Spyker-factory, dismantled in 1993. From post-World War II the museum features a car of Winston Churchill, the Aston Martin DB5 used in the James Bond movie Goldfinger, and a Cadillac of Elvis Presley. The former collection of old cars of the Dutch Autotron in Rosmalen had been on display since 2005 in Raamsdonksveer, and was moved to the new museum in The Hague. The Autotron has not had an automotive museum since its reorganisation in 2007. The museum also displays a large collection of paintings and drawings by Frederick Gordon Crosby.' Kind regards, Jan

Yes it's really great, and I consider it as an honour for the NAMAC (and myself) to have the opportunity to present ourselves in that 'vintage car palace' with our various collections. Mind you, it's about miniature cars in general, so Dinky Toys are just a part of it. But the 1:1 vintage cars are really marvellous, and all other automobilia connected with that. We could make arrangements of course. I will volunteer for four days to be present as a host, but almost any date in that period will suit me. For whoever would like to visit NL in that period, it may be good to know that preceding the closing date of the exhibition, on August 8, there will be another Houten Fair, as always organized by the NAMAC. Nice to combine ... Kind regards, Jan

Greetings everybody, further to my recent post on the 'Red/Yellow panel box' thread where I posted a picture of one of my display cabinets containing these models, here are a couple more pictures which are of the adjoining cabinets, first with post-1960 models and some early (1954 and on) Trade Packs:
And then a cabinet with some 'overflow' models from my main displays: some pre-war and early post-war models, Guys and Fodens in early blue boxes, and my collection of 555/955 Fire Engines as per Jan's detailed article several years ago (coincidentally I had also built up a collection of the model and box variations similar to Jan's, except that I managed to procure a 'Visi-pac' model from Keith Harvie some years ago):
I hope you will forgive the two Morestone AA Motorcycle patrols which found there way in here, the patrolmen must be answering a call? Hope you find something of interest here! Regards to all, Adrian (141)
