I tested the notify email thing again, and it still seems to be working - at least for me. You will not get a notify about your own comments, of course. Opting to receive ALL comments, should get notifications that everyone makes to the thread. Opting to receive only 'Replies to my comment' should get notifications only if someone replies specifically to one of your comments. Other members may prefer that second option, Jacques, so I'm not going to suppress it. There is some jiggling around with spacing of elements like the upload button. Although I understand what you're esthetically saying about fitting the screen, Jacques, I must consider that other users may be viewing on phones or tablets or devices and their screens might not be ideal for having, for example, file indicia all strung together a single line. The font size/font family thing will be investigated.

Al.....many thanks again for all the recent improvements....we do appreciate all that you have done are continuing to work; the site is much improved already compared to when it first opened. And Jan, I wholeheartedly agree......this is what we have and we all need to get onboard as their is no alternative, and I am not yet ready to retire from posting with like-minded Dinky friends. Regards, Terry

Thanks for the kind words, Terry. What happened was that I heard from John that he was having trouble adding content to the site because of the state of the installation. Plus the planned migration wasn't happening and there didn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel. As you probably know, I'm just a dtca member, but I have some experience in this field, so I contacted DaveK in the middle of last month, to see if I could help out and together with Justin and Gary from Tucker, we've managed to get the key ambitions realised. Going forward, there will need to be some more tweaks to iron out the remaining wrinkles. it's great to have some feedback pointers and hope the site experience is enjoyable for everyone.

Hello Terry, Al and all others, Nice you enjoy the new site and I hope many others will do. After some initial troubles we now can add comment and pictures as before at the Forum. This thanks to the huge work of Dave and Al. Improvements are always possible but we just need a nice Forum were we can post what we think is of value for other collectors. Despite some critics from a well known user, I am pleased with the new site and will continue providing information. I am not a IT expert, just collector of pre war Dinky toys and this is what I enjoy. Anyone who has questions on pre war Dinky Toys can always contact me! John Beugels.

Al--On the old site, we had a forum or topic for 'Dinky Toys and their real world prototypes', or something similar. It was not separated into French or English....just one forum for posting images and descriptions of Dinky Toys and their real world counterparts. I do not see a forum or topic for this, unless I am missing it. If not, we need to recreate it and have it available, as it is an important and interesting feature. Regards, Terry

Hi Terry, you'll probably mean the 'Where it came from' thread, which is included in the folder 'Dinky Toys General Discussions'. I just noticed that many of your photobucket pictures seem to have dropped out. By the way, 'Dinky Toys and their real world prototypes' is a thread in the Planet Diecast Forum, a thread which I happen to have initiated many years ago - the reason why I know what you mean. Kind regards, Jan

Jan--Thanks....I found that, and you are right, I was looking under the wrong topic...the one I remembered was from Planet Diecast! Also, I did notice that many of my earlier photos from Photobucket have dropped out. I was wondering if there is any way to delete the message shown by Photobucket about the image being moved, etc., and replacing it with a newer one, not from Photobucket. It would not allow me to delete or cut the old image or message from Photobucket. It would seem to be nice to be able to delete or change an image if you are in the edit mode...........Jan or Al, do you have any ideas on how to do this? Regards, Terry

Old forum postings are editable by their original authors. Terry, if you want to delete photobucket placecard images, edit a relevant post, click the image and backspace it away. You can add new images inside the text editor itself, using the Image icon from the editor menu (second row, second icon) - or use the multi-image uploader panel just below the text editor window.Incidentally, if you click on Manage Content from the User Menu (the thing where you logged in), you will see a list of all the forum topics that you have posted.

Three pictures not initially meant to be 'photo specials' but just quick snap shots of proof layouts for the Namac exhibition. Still, odd enough to show them here in my opinion:

Al---Thanks again for your instructions on deleting images.....it worked just great, and I was able to go back and fix some of my old postings that had dropped images from Photobucket. And Jan, thank you for bringing to my attention those older posts, with missing images. I went back in today and re-posted photos that were appropriate, so I think they are properly restored now. Regards, Terry
