Jan--As you can see, I accidentally posted this twice..........not sure how that happened, but now how do I delete the extra post? I looked under edit, but did not see a delete post option anywhere............. Terry

Hi Terry, in the edit mode there must be a button 'Remove', but that may only be useful for removing the uploaded picture. I'm not sure how to remove an entire post. May be those 'behind the buttons' can give us some advice in this. Kind regards, Jan

This is exactly why in my list of possible improvements to this site, I asked for such a 'delete this post' button. Jacques.

Jacques, Terry, before the improvement Jacques suggests will be realised, you can always remove the text and the picture(s) in the edit mode. This does not remove he basic post, but anyway the contents will be removed, and that is essentially what you wish to do. It may be helpful for others to understand that you replace the text by 'DELETED'. Kind regards, Jan

Jan---Thanks for the tip.....I did go in and do that, but we really need a 'delete post' button sometime in the future.

Jan--Very nice....I never did buy that model, and have never seen one in person, but it appears that the French Dinky folks made a very nice, accurate model with it.Terry

I tried taking a photo a few minutes ago, and when I ran it through Photoshop Elements, did some slight editing, then saved it. It gives you a choice of saving formats, from high to maximum quality. So I am posting the same basic photo twice, first at the lower, or high quality setting, then at the Maximum quality setting, so see if there is any discernible difference.Terry

Terry, With Elements, I always save my pictures at 8. the difference is only visible if later on you want to enlarge the picture. The 'delete' button is a must but also the emails and in 'Recent comments' there should be only one link per topic / thread. It is a pain to clic on half a dozen links which all lead to the same topic.

Jacques----Thanks.....that is what I just found out with those 2 photos....I can't tell any difference between the two with respect to detail or clarity, so I will stay with high or 8 save setting. Regards, Terry

About deleting posts. The option to delete comments is not available except to moderators. This is because of the way that the forum (and in fact, the whole website) organises its content. Each topic is the parent of the comments that other members post in reply. Within a topic, it is also possible to comment on a particular comment. A sub-comment, if you will. These sub-comments are children of the corresponding comment. The structure of a topic might look something like this; - Topic X - comment 1 - comment 2 - comment 3 - comment 3.a - comment 3.b - comment 3.c - comment 4 Topic X has four comments, but comment #3 has sub-comments also. If the author of comment #3 deleted his comment, all the dependent children would be deleted also. While deleting a double-comment seems to be a different issue, were the permission available, it would be available all across the site. I will investigate to see if there is a feasible way to work around the basic architecture but, failing that, double posters can request an admin to delete any double posts or backspace their text and drop images, as Jan suggests.
