Jan Thanks for the further explanation. I sure like your idea of putting casters on the table, so it can be moved around as your light needs vary. I really do not have a good area inside our house for available light use, so I either have to outside, which can be good at times, but awkward ferrying all the camera gear and models, which are upstairs, or just making the best of my light box area with artificial light. That is super handy, and always ready to use, and only about 20 feet from my models, so has turned into my 'go to' photo area. I have been using color corrected compact fluorescent lights, and hand holding them. I have found, for me at least, that I need to move them both around to get the best lighting without bothersome reflections. So I usually have a light in each hand, along with my camera cable release, while peering through the range finder to see the best effect. After using my zoom lens a lot this past year, I have gone back to using my 50 mm Nikon close focus lens, and am happy with the results. I am also very happy with Photoshop Elements to edit my photos, and am really enjoying taking pictures of my collection and sharing them. Terry

Dave-- A nice postal set! The postal delivery van has always been a favorite of mine....a very quaint, but well detailed casting, full of charm. Terry

Hello Jan, thanks for sharing, sorry to take so long to respond but I only just got back to the UK this Monday! I am still tinkering myself and using 'very basic' equipment I am starting to get the results I desire, today's effort was this grouping (natural light).
Kind regards, Stef PS: That SS United States is brilliant,

Hi Stef, well, that result isn't bad at all, isn't it? Daylight is for free. Whatever basic the equipment is, it's rather a matter of critical looking and displaying than buying professional and expensive equipment (which I do not have either). And some basic image processing software (often included with your digital camera) is welcome. And increasing experience, of course ... Kind regards, Jan

Wow, am I happy with my new private 2015 Dinky Toys calendar! I worked on it while the paint was drying for my big displays renovation of the last few weeks. That's why it is so early this year, the fourth private production in succession since Dave Busfield and I produced the official DTCA 75 Dinky anniversary calendar for 2010. it's so much fun making this image party, that I always regret that a year counts only 12 months while compiling it! I picked it up yesterday and it's always an exciting moment to unpack and see if the printed result matches the onscreen images. Well, I am more than satisfied with it. I think you will not mind showing it here. Regular watchers of this thread will no doubt recognize some of the images posted here in the past time.
Unfortunately ... no 13th month! Kind regards, Jan

Dave---That scene so reminds me of a favorite toy store I used to frequent around 1955-1956; They had a stock of Dinky's similar to that behind the counter, and they would let me prowl around and look them over...what a treat that was, and I have never forgot it! Nice scene, and thanks for the nostalgic look back! Best regards, Terry
