from
the late 1930 ' s.Most of these exist as postwar re - issues,
and were made in several colors.I like taking pictures of them in pairs,
so here they are....TerryFirst,

Those 39 series cars are absolutely lovely,
I do not own any of these
and the problem is I have run out of space,
I am trying to improve on what I have got rather than expand.I already have about ten items in boxes
and I think this is a waste with them not being seen.Dave

Dave ---I think that 'space management' is an issue with most collectors, and some of these guys collect a bit of everything, literally thousands of models. My wife and I have talked about re-doing our upstairs bonus room, where my display is now, and making it much larger and better. I am now totally out of room....that is after squeezing in several extra glass shelves in my cabinet, and then crowding the models very close together. Any new ones are having to stay in their boxes, but like Jan, that is not ideal for me....I want to be able to see and/or handle my Dinky's. By the way, last year for the first time, I took out all of my Dinky's and arranged them on several flat tables that I set up, covered in white paper. I had enough space that I did not need to crowd them too much. It was fun to have them all spread out at one time, and I left them out for a couple of weeks that way. Here are a few pictures of them........... Terry

Actually Jan,
an arrangement like this,
a prime mover hauling two trailers is normal in the Outback in Australia. These are called Road Trains,
although never hauled by a Guy ! Not sure of the usual type of prime mover,
but have seen a road train hauled by a Kenilworth with two trailers of similar length to a normal semi - trailer.I have never had to overtake such a beast,
and never wish to do so either for that matter,
but they do exist !
