Three variations of the 152b Reconnaissance car
On the left is the extremely rare post-war version with smooth hubs and white tyres. In the middle is the common version with ridged hubs. On the right is also very rare version in the brown paint, which I belive was only ever used on export versions to the States. Dave

I have been 'studying' the changes of wheels around the 1960s - cast metal to plastic for large vehicles, cast metal to spun aluminium to plastic on the smaller vehicles (like the 181 VW etc.). One I found was 969 BBC Extending Mast vehicle:
I wonder if 967 BBC TV Control Room came with plastic hubs? The overlapping date-wise 987 ABC TV Control Room came with metal (blue or grey) hubs or grey plastic whereas I don't think 988 TV Transmitter van came with plastic hubs and likewise 968 BBC Roving Eye? Ron

Hi Ron, What a nice find!! I have never seen this model with plastic hubs. It is on my wants list now! Until one finds a 967 or 968 with plastic hubs I just assume they do not exist. Same for the 988. Does someone have a picture of one of these models with plastic hubs? Kind regards, Rob

This thread of 'Wheel Variations' is a very valuable one and should be maintained and continued. There is no reason why the thread for the 150 Rolls Royce should be removed from here. It can be DUPLICATED in the 150 thread and that way all the threads are fully valid. Lets be sensible about what we do, if threads are going to be lost, surely it is only right to ask the thread initiator before changes are made - that would be the courteous way to do things. Dave

Dave I am in complete agreement with everything you have stated, and have written so under the 158 Rolls Royce thread. It is true that often posts get lost which are important. I am trying to find a post that someone made concerning the 660 Tank Transporter with the cut-out behind the cab. I know I have read it somewhere, but dashed if I know where I can find it! This is probably further confirmation of what Jacques would like to see happen. Make a post on a topic that is related but then put a copy under the model number itself. The TMT website was ideal in that threads were created for every model produced by Dinky. We have to start thinking outside the square so that important information is not buried somewhere! Kind regards Bruce

Thank you Bruce I am going to ask the committee to produce some guidelines/protocols/rules for the forum to help smooth running in the future. Jacgues, in the meantime can the relevant entries removed from the 'Wheel Variations' thread be reinstated there to ensure that this thread is not devalued and that it is meaningful for us to use in the future. I have stressed more disciplin, topic-faith (which I am violating now!) and categorization several times. In my opinion there should be a kind of editorial committee in order to relieve and assist Dave Kaun. In fact all rules, responsibilities and authority of persons involved should be freshly reviewed. The need for that was not very obvious in the time that the forum was hardly used, but now it is. Kind regards, Jan

I was approached a couple of months ago by David Kaun to become much more involved in the forum at an administration level. Due to my lack of knowledge of the mechanics of websites and having never used Joomla I was reluctant but this has now changed. I am unhappy, and frustrated, about a number of recent activities on the website and I have written to the DTCA committee with regards to drawing up a code of practise which will encompass such principles as respect, consideration, democracy etc. As Jan correctly stated there was a time when there was only a handful of users but this has now changed and the site needs to adapt as well. I am going to get more involved as time goes on. Dave

Jacques There are still some 'missing' posts in here which devalues this important topic. Can the relevant posts be reinstated please. Dave
