Hi all from Enzed, Just arrived in separate parcels are these two Dinky. The good old Leyland Comet Portland Cement wagon with a 933 box (date code D 11 55) and 787 Lighting Kit for buildings. Is this the smallest Dinky Toys box? Ron F

Hi Ron, never seen that tiny box! Perhaps the spare tyres boxes can compete with it, but - despite being accessories too - they are admittedly of a slightly different kind compared with the familiar Dinky Toys boxes. Kind regards, Jan

Ron and Jan - The 933 box is not very common - only 26 have passed through Vectis since 2004. And that little 787 - it is a great little box of tricks, of which I received mine on 12 June 2013 together with 13 other models - Christmas came early that year! Jan I think there is a smaller tyre box, but will have to check my inventory! Actually, the 787 has been 'misplaced' several times but at least I know where to look when next I go in search of it!The stain on the right has been caused by the staple - curses! But now we come to my 'new Arrival'. Well actually, it is not a 'new' arrival, but a returning 'New Arrival'. It is my 282 Duple Roadmaster Coach I received for Christmas 1953 together with a 281 Luxury Coach in fawn with orange side flashes and green hubs. The above is a colour slide taken circa 1955/56. One can see the 282 hiding behind the 901 Foden Wagon with a Meccano cylinder load, and the 281 to the right behind the Pullmore Car Transporter. The above just in case you missed it! I collected the 281 in 1986 together with most of my Dinky Toys from my Mother's home and brought them back to Papua New Guinea with me - but the 282 was missing. The 282 finally came home when my brother presented it to me during a 'cousins reunion' last weekend together with a number of other Dinky Toys following a de-clutter of their home! So far I have recovered about nine Dinky Toys since October 1999 from the same source! But it is nice to have this one back, even though it is a little the worse for wear, as when I last saw it, it only had a few very small chips, together with that funny black blob on the roof. Yes, it is nice to have a 'prodigal coach' back again! Kind regards Bruce (150) 20161030/1023/1353 And the following is a nice enlargement of my dear old 282 Duple Roadmaster Coach, previously missing, not forgotten, but found again!

Bruce----What lovely scenes those years old slides show. I also have some, but they are unusual 35 mm stereo slides, mounted in cardboard, so not at all easy to scan or reproduce. I have several of my early collecting days, and I need to take them to a professional shop to scan or copy. Thanks for sharing! Best regards, Terry

A wide mailbox you have, Richard, and nice stuff came into it! Which is the difference of the Unic oil tubes truck compared with your other examples? Kind regards, Jan

Hi Richard, beware of the Dutch! Kidding, I don't know if these tyres are correct, they seem a little bit too white to me, but that is not impossible if the model has been stored in its box all the time. I hope someone else is more expert on these later French models. But I am familiar with the real one! My father had a maroon 404 in the later 1960s. It was the first car I drove (fast). My new arrival is the US export no. 151b Transport Wagon, the scarcer version 1952-1953 only, with fixed driver (the early one with spread arms) and the round axle ends. Kind regards, Jan
