it's a beauty, Terry! So desirable that such a model is not (too) chipped, because any deficiency in that respect is so very obvious on a bright yellow model like this, with so many protruding parts. A nice intra-DTCA members transaction too. Remarkable that the BUY, SELL, TRADE section of the forum has not been used by anyone yet ... Kind regards, Jan

Jan....thanks for the nice comment; I am not sure now why I never bothered to add this very nice model years ago, but have now corrected that oversight. I also enjoyed reading all the history that many of our members have contributed on this truck. And, by the way, your comment on the buy, sell, and trade function prompted me to list a buying want.......never hurts to list it!Best regards, Terry

Richard A very nice Beemer Richard! I have not seen the red version that often, but according to Ramsay, it is worth less than the lime-green which would indicate that more are available than the lime-green but this may not necessarily be the case as the lime-green seems to be more prevalent but has a higher value. But it is nice when one has an example of both colour schemes. Well Done! Anyway, here is another of my new arrivals from Exmouth, Devon, UK, again from the John Kinchen Collection, a 193 Rambler Cross Country Station Wagon in all-over sage green.
. Looking a little tatty and obviously much played with, but it is quite an uncommon South African version, having the off-white interior. This version comes up occasionally with the usual UK version in yellow with white roof but this is the first time I have seen a similar one with an off-white interior from South Africa. The tyres are not original so this is yet another Dinky Toy that John has replaced the original tyres or perhaps it came into his care without tyres. Happy collecting to you all!! Trundling into the collection this week is a green 889 Autobus Parisien. There is a red version 889U Autobus Urbain, presumably suitable for towns other than Paris and supplied in the same dual purpose lidded picture box (the box end blurb may be different). Pulling back the front wheels closes the plastic doors and pressing down the back wheels opens them. Sort of. The door hinges are ultra fragile and the doors on this example are somewhat perished. Originally there was a sticker sheet of advertising panels which a previous owner has applied.

Is that one correct, Jan?' my wife commented on seeing the plastic propeller and plastic windows when unpacking this addition. 'Yes', I replied, 'it is just within the end-1959 time slot I set for collecting British Dinky Toys, also connects very well to my maritime collection, and I am extremely happy with it!'.

Kia Ora all, On Sunday, I attended a local toy fair. I picked up this French Dinky 562H Citroen 2CV Wagenwacht. I was brought in by a member of the public along with many other played with toys. What is curious is how it got to New Zealand, but we did have a number of Dutch migrants arrive here in the 1950s. Any French Dinky is very rae in NZ although Islands such as New Caledonia and Tahiti are not far away and they did get French Dinkys over the years. Ron F
