I had some fun this morning producing this image of the Dinky Supertoys 966 Marrel Multi-Bucket Unit. It is a multiple exposure (3 shots) showing the action of off-loading, or loading, the bucket onto the Leyland Super Comet. It was fiddly to produce but I am pleased with the result. Dave

Hi Richard it's a Nikon D2X which is a high-end SLR, for the vast majority of my Dinky shots I use a Nikon Macro lens and always mounted on a very sturdy tripod. All the focussing and exposures are on manual so I have complete control over everything that I do. This enables me to do funny and interesting things like the Marrel Multi-Bucket shot. I will be changing from the D2X to a D800 some time soon as my D2X is now 9 years old. Dave

Dinky Continental Tours are on location in Bavaria. As luck would have it, this is Kulmbach Beer Week, so it's beer and bratwurst all round!

Here are a couple of photos of the 2d Sheep showing significant weight differences. The pre-war version is over three times as heavy as the post-war version. The pre-war one would have made a much more substantial sunday lunch except that it is made from lead!!! Dave

Remarkable Dave, is the post-war version hollow? Or are both hollow in a different way? The specific gravity of lead is 12250 kg/m3. The specific gravity of zinc is 7200 kg/m3 (zamac = ca. 95% zinc) So if the lead one is 39.7g one would expect the zamac one to be approx 39.7 x 7200 : 12250 = 23.3g! Regards, Jan
