Jan --Whomever you had do that replica box bottom sure did a nice job, and you were right to have it done, so that you can properly display the beautiful original box top. I still see quite a few 39 series listed for sale, so just a matter of time before you find a suitable one. Terry

Bel ensemble Richard. The Yellow / red Chrysler was the colour of a New York taxi company.I have seen on oin a film some time ago but I can not remember which film. Were all the other US export two tones colours copied
from
real cars ?

For my calendar nothing has been retouched as the models is concerned. Sometimes, however, some photoshopping actions were inevitable to make some corrections in the sizes, surroundings and exposure. The biggest challenge was to digitally clean the label of my 39 series box, which I used for the cover. So, for that item I did some fundamental retouching actions indeed, in order to have a nice, clean and appealing title page. This correction must have cost me many hours - I presume 5-8 - of scrupulously precise cleaning and restoration work. By the way, my special thanks to Al Keeling, who made the very nice repro box below the original box lid, as shown above! Kind regards, Jan
