Recently a Dutch store introduced a new wall paper with Dinky Toys pictured and some funny text lines included. I have scanned two samples on true size: It is remarkable that the ones shown are all visibly 'played-with', but most curious is the apparent mutilation that each of them have undergone. In most cases the rears are cut or have been changed otherwise. I don't know why, possibly for fear of publishing them without permission? Kind regards, Jan

Hi Jan, That's funny wall paper! They must have used a Fotoshop like programme to create the mutilations. If not we should try to obtain the models used! Anyway it is good proof that Dinky Toys are 'in fashion'!!. Kind regards, Rob

Jan That is just amazing that someone actually went to all that trouble with old Dinky's.... We all think it is neat, but in today's market, how many would really know what it is? And maybe they were just after the look, and the fact they were Dinky's wasn't too important. Terry

For some generations in the Netherlands, say people over 40, Dinky Toys belong to the 'collective memory' and are recognized as such. Of course, if you would put one model of a different brand in between, few people would notice. Kind regards, Jan

I love that Nash Rambler Sedan! Boot (trunk?) seems a bit big though! CW
