G'Day all!In a recent Post, I raised the subject of Meccano Dealers Trade Bulletins. These comprised useful information to assist Meccano Dealers sell the products of Binns Road. It did not concentrate entirely on Dinky Toys, although many issued were devoted to these, but rather general information on all products manufactured by Meccano.Below is the first example I have obtained, dated 28 September 1953, and its subjects were the 27n Field Marshall Tractor and the Dinky Toys Gift Set No. 4.
The reverse side provided a diagram on how to display the Dinky Toys Gift Set No. 4.I have just read Dave 's Post wherein he mentioned having obtained a number of Meccano Dealers Trade Bulletins, so no doubt he will be able to add to this Thread, complementing the nine I have acquired over the past two decades. A number of years ago, most of these came up for sale through eBay and I was successful with several when I began to have a competitor, whose maximum bid amount was astronomical and well out of my reach for the final ten or so Bulletins. In those days, bidders on eBay knew the identity of each other by their eBay Identity. It is good to see that with Dave's acquisitions, these fascinating pieces of Meccano history are still out there. Hopefully, I will be able to add some more to my collection providing I do not have another competitor with the initials DB, and no doubt the feeling would be mutual! :laugh:Kind regardsBruce (150) #505 25 March 2015
