One of my big favourites is this impressive cover of the October 1961 issue of MM. In the mean time the Magazine had resumed the large size that it had pre war, which makes this picture even more stunning (of course not reproducible that way on this spot).
The Queen Mary was so iconic and had such a long life (in fact still in existence) that it regularly showed up in the Magazine for almost thirty years. A selection:

Jan--What a wonderful cover and also the inside contents tell all about the Queen Mary and her development. Very interesting and a remarkable ship in her day. By the way, the Queen Mary is now permanently anchored in nearby Long Beach, California and is open for tours, etc. She has been there for about 30 years I believe and is still an impressive sight to behold.Terry

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this one Jan. Before they moved over to the Aus Dollar and NZ Dollar both Australia and New Zealand had the Pound as their currency. It was never an exchange rate of 1:1, I am sure that the magazine priced at 9 pence was for UK market and the one priced at 1 shilling was for Australia and New Zealand markets. Dave

Dave I found your Post while laboriously going through The Forum and copying every Post I have made and in the process, have found that many of my Posts have been prematurely terminated or missing completely. I used primarily, under My Account, all the Forum Topics in which I have posted an entry. I then came to realize that this table was atrociously incomplete. I first noticed this when my personal Post Number at the foot of my messages and after my name and DTCA member number had many gaps. (Yes, that was the reason I started including this in the last six or so months of the life of the old website.) I understand from Al, that in time, everything will be sorted out from the old site, but I could not wait, just in case this new site gets hacked and really buggered - at least I have a copy of all my 'hard' work!! Anyway, in the course of this, I saw the above Post from you, and I thought I would reply - be it a little over THREE years ago when your posted your entry! You are spot on with your response. The 9d was the price in the UK with the other most likely Australia. I must go through all my stuff and see if the magazine's price appears elsewhere. Kind regards Bruce (15) 17 June 2015
