Terry, Thanks so much for your info I did reduce my image to e_mail attachment yesterday but after what you have just said I checked the size and it was too large (DTCA requires max 800x800 350KB!)so I have reduced it and hope this works. Don. These are some of my restorations hope you like the Oldsmobile

Don--Congrats on getting the picture to post....that can be challenging at times! I have a program called 'Zoom Brower' that came with one of my Canon cameras, and it has a re-sizing program in it, especially made to re-size pics for e-mails, which cannot be too large. It always seems to reduce them down to a size that everyone can use, including this site. Those are all very nice restos that you did, and of course, the Oldsmobile looks great....nice job! Terry

Hi Terry A lovely story about Dinky collecting, I would like to add a little bit about mine. The golden age for Dinky for me was from 1955 to 1960 and during this time our family lived in a beautiful Yorkshire market town called Settle. Below is shown a small part of the market square. The significant part of this photo for me is the corner shop in the centre called 'J Maunders', there is a lady just crossing the street in front of it. This was the Dinky Toy shop in Settle. When I started High School I had to go past this shop twice a day so I was always looking out for the new additions. Dave

Dave--Wonderful old photo of that town square and also the vintage cars there....lovely! And very special that the 'Dinky Store' that you frequented is right there. Lots of memories I am sure! Terry

Hi Terry: I live in Pennsylvania, and I have been collecting Dinky Toys for over 50 years. You were lucky to obtain those US models from HH Dobson. You mention letters you still keep from him. Is it possible that you scan one for us to see? It would be very interesting. Welcome to the club and keep on collecting! JF Heraud.

Dear Jose, I've got some H. Hudson Dobson correspondence too, from 1953 (about the availability of French Dinky Toys and catalogues) and from 1960 (informing about Dinky Toys dealers in Fairbanks and Seattle). I'm always impressed and astonished by how serious Meccano and HH Dobson were in replying extensively to the questions and requests of their little clients! Those were the days ... If you wish I can send the scans to you. Regards, Jan
