Yesterday the new DTCA Journal dropped into my mail box. The DTCA can be proud to have reached this 50th issue of The Journal. I have reproduced some crucial pages for you in order to see how interesting and varied the contents are, and how professionality has risen considerably in the past years. The contrast with the first issue of January 2003 is striking. Since early this year Mike Forbes, formerly of Diecast Collector, is our editor, after a long and successful editorship of David Busfield. It is about time that Dinky enthusiasts who do not know of this unsurpassed periodical in the field (do they really exist?) become a member of the DTCA, with a subscription to The Journal. Some quick impressions: The very first issue of January 2003. See the difference? And many more splendid and informative pages! And a bonus reprint, kindly made available by the Hornby Collectors' Association, the Meccano Trade Bulletin with plans for 1940, a crisp 4 page leaflet! Kind regards, Jan

Hi Jan, I was absolutely delighted with my new Journal, as I have been with all the others over the last few years. There is so much information in each issue, and for a Pre War fan like me the 1940 trade leaflet was perfect, I have read it several times and added to my notes accordingly! The fact that Meccano say that they were attempting to manufacture new product as late as 1940, presumably casting new Dinky's for Xmas that year is something I had read about, but never seen any direct proof of until now. Fantastic! Chris Warr.
