Hello all, The reference 423 seem to apply to the Fordson Thames flat truck and trailer. I do not know the source for this reference and I can not find any information about it. (TMT, Vectis, QDT) Was it issued and is there a box to prove that it has not been made up like the one above on which one of the item has hubs in a wrong colour ?

Jacques. I searched in catalogues, leaflets and price lists. The sales number 423 does not appear in this. The compendium of Patrick Trench and the Ramsay guide don't know this number either. The only combination of Flat Truck and Trailer was issued after the war under sales number 25t. I found it from May 1946 in the Meccano price list UK as a 25t Flat Truck and Trailer and in the USA catalogue 1947-48 by Jan Werner. Last issued in 1950 catalogues. Auctioned on 20 March 2018 by Vectis in a trade box of 3 pieces. Before the war the 25g Trailer was included in the 25 series Commercial Motor Vehicles but as far as I could find was it before the war never issued as a set with a Commercial Motor Vehicle. Jan O.

Dear Jacques, I have one green fully matching combination of both, but they certainly are no couple, as they were bought separately, at different moments, moreover, one individually boxed. I have never heard of, or seen a 423 reference number for this combination. I have also checked my Meccano factory lists, where the number - if present at all - is left open, not filled in. Kind regards, Jan

Thank you Jan O and Jan W for your answers. May be the reference 423 was given to this combination but it was not issued and 423 remains unused. 403, 426 , 427, 444, 445, 446, 447, 473, 474 etc... are also unused
