This is a late issue rear tipping wagon from probably 1963 or 64 with die cast concave hubs. Unfortunately it is not mine. For my list of now 137 different Dinky Toys wheels, could some one provide me with a large picture of this type of wheel either from this truck or any other model. Has any one listed the models fitted with this type of hubs ?Thanks and regards.

Jacques--This is another post that did not use the created pdf titles that are listed ( copy & paste from the list Dave created). The intent of the is to follow a standardized title format, and to eliminate similar but slightly different titles. I humbly suggest it is in the best interests of our website & fellow members. Best regards, Terry

Hi Jacques, I found this picture of an example sold by QDT. It presents another look of the hubs, showing the rear sides. Some other pictures included, showing that the 4th type 25e Tipping Wagon and the present Tipping Wagon share the same back, with a small modification by adding the lug that stops the tipping bracket. Although types 1-3 have a different back they share the same basic drawing. This drawing (job no. 6682) of the loading platform is dating from as early as 2 January 1934! The simple tipping principle was adopted by the French as well, as the Simca Cargo demonstrates. I don't know if examples with plastic hubs do exist. Anyway, the related Farm Produce Wagon has those final plastic hubs. The die was modified in the end, dropping the side bonnet louvres and reducing the size of the side cab windows. Kind regards, Jan

Browsing through some image folders on my harddisk I re-discovered this fabulous photo (1), which was professionally taken and processed by Dave Busfield in November 2008, when we were preparing the contents for the DTCA Dinky Toys 75th anniversary jubilee calendar. Like so many others of the many pictures taken, this one was not selected for inclusion in the calendar in the end. The rediscovery of this image opened my eyes for the severe deterioration of the right side bonnet louvres on this very example. The subsequent photos (2,3) taken by myself, show the left side of this orange/green model with slightly less wear. This, combined with the accompanying box, illustrates that the die wear was well underway in the mid-1950s. Models with newer boxes always(?) contain models without the louvres at the bonnet's sides, so Meccano must have deleted them, as a solution for this problem, around ca. 1957. Kind regards, Jan

Until mid-1952 there was no catalogue number under the rear bed. That situation changed twice according to drawing No. 6682. A scan of this drawing would be welcomed for the Dinky CD. On 17 September 1952 the number 30M was added to the drawing but has the die been engraved ? On 6 June 1955 the new number 414 is added to the drawing and into the die.If any one has this truck with 30M engraved under the tipper, a photo would be welcomed. Jacques.

Hello Ron, I have not yet seen a 343 with spun hubs. I thing that it went straigt from ridged to plastic hubs. The later are very rare. About the 30M - 414 Rear tipping wagon, you write : 'the Dodge Rare Tipping Wagon'. I suppose that you mean : 'the Dodge REAR Tipping Wagon'. If so, please correct your post above or confirm that you mean : ' the rare Dodge Tipping Wagon'. Could you please provide a picture of the rear tipping wagon with plastic hubs for the Encyclopaedia ? A large picture 3/4 front left without cutting of any parts of the model.Although the 30N - 343 is engraved with both references, I have not yet seen the tipper 30M - 414 marked with the ref. 30M. Has any one ?Thanks and regards.Jacques.

Hi from New Zealand, Just a quick note to confirm that the Dodge Rear Tipping Wagon was fitted with plastic hubs. Was the 343 Dodge Farm Produce Wagon produced with spun hubs? Ron F

Hi, I have just received a Dodge Kew Rear Tipping Wagon in a deeper blue than usual. Is it the so called 'violet blue' or Royal Blue? Or is there no difference in the colours just different interpretation? Ron F

Hi Ron, there is a darker blue one indeed, which is generally older than the more familiar medium blue version (which often has lost its louvres on both sides of the bonnet). Yours, however, really looks more violet than the 'ordinary' darker blue examples, compare picture below (and above). Kind regards, Jan
