Ronald, If you look carefully with the right light, you can see the top of the letter. All the best. Jacques.

Here is one with an 'A' on the driver's platform casting: If you are looking for a variation on the model, then the late issues only had one drive shaft and it was moulded in black. Ron

Sorry I can't help, I still need this one. However as a regular traveller on the new M6 in the late 60's / early 70's I well remember seeing these travelling in convoy from Leyland, to be honest they were rear engined Atlantean bus chassis' but very close, the poor drivers had a flat cap and a scarf to keep the rain / snow off and a lap strap to keep them in! Thank you Ron, Ronald and Chris for your helpful answers and additional information. So we have : 1) two red prop shafts, cab A or B. 2) two black prop shafts, cab A or B. 2) one black prop shaft, cab A or B. There may be one more variation ? There is a small raised area under the chassis. Was this the location of the reference number on the early 1964 - 1965 models ?

Ronald, Thank you, yours is a variation two and if there is a ref. number on the raised area, it can only be on the type one with red prop shafts. It is possible that there was a ref. number engraved in the die and that it was deleted before production started. This happened with the pressure refueller which has been marked DINKY TOYS but this was changed to DINKY SUPERTOYS before production of the initial batch started. Jacques.

Jacques Mine has B under the plastic front, two red drive shafts, and a rectangular raised area where you have indicated. Also, not discussed previously, two weights have the letter B inside and one has the letter A. This may be of some assistance with your research, but the box has a price of 14/11 on it, which was applicable from the introduction date of September 1964 to September 1966.(In October 1966 the price increased to 15/2.) Kind regards Bruce (150) #573

Bruce or eagle eye, Thank you for mentioning the weights, I had not spoted that. This shows that we do not look at our Dinky properly. Mine has two As and one B so it must be better than yours. :P I also paid 14/11d. for this model as shown on my box.
