The photo shows a Ford Consul Corsair with driver sold by Vectis in a yellow end flaps box. Vectis sold five of them in yellow boxes. This model with driver was suposed to be available only in some of the Fun A'Hoy sets # 125. Of course, with Meccano every thing is possible but do you think that this is part of a short run using left over cars when the factory was short of # 125 boxes ?This photo raises an other question. What is the use of the extra flap on the box ? It reads : 'PATENT APPLIED FOR'. Which patent ? is this a legal requirement ? Many Dinky Toys baseplates are marked like this but I know only two with this sort of flap. There are also some boxes for the Corsair where the flap is not printed.

In my collection I have a lightblue version of Dinky Toys 130 with a driver in the original box. I have bought this model in a second hand toyshop in my hometown Alkmaar more then 15 years ago. Realizing that this must be something special. At that moment I already had the common metallic red version, but also The Fun Ahoy Set with a normal red model with driver.
