Jacques Why bother having a thread called WHEEL VARIATIONS when you can willy-nilly pull a post and start a new Thread. At first I could not understand why you posted a question and then answered it until I saw Ron's name. If this is going to be the case, then cancel the WHEEL VARIATION thread in its entirety and transfer each post to a new or existing thread. Bruce

Hi Bruce, It was my fault as I was concentrating on the pictures. It WAS supposed to be under the WHEEL VARIATION category! Ron

I have to say I agree with Bruce on this one. This was never a structured forum like TMT so there was nothing wrong with what we were doing. Dave

The registration on this Rolls is UVR 70E which means Manchester 1967. The thread 'Wheel variation' may have been a good idea to start with but is it rearly. The information gets lost in this thread. Say that in six months you remember about this Rolls with Speedwheels, you will have to flip a dozen pages before you find what you want. If the info is in 158 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, what you are looking for is probably on the previous or next page. Yes, I think that the 'Wheel variations' thread should not be and I hope that in the future, such posts are placed in the thread for each model which is the only place where the information can be retreived easily. Several of us have used the TMT web site which was a great succes, we hardly ever had to create new threads.

Jacques When I stated in my last post 'Why bother having a thread called WHEEL VARIATIONS when you can willy-nilly pull a post and start a new Thread. At first I could not understand why you posted a question and then answered it until I saw Ron's name. If this is going to be the case, then cancel the WHEEL VARIATION thread in its entirety and transfer each post to a new or existing thread. ' I was considerably unhappy with what had taken place as it has happened with one of my posts elsewhere. I should have expressed myself better and included what David wrote in the WHEELS VARIATION thread: buzzer999 wrote: 'This thread of 'Wheel Variations' is a very valuable one and should be maintained and continued. There is no reason why the thread for the 150 Rolls Royce should be removed from here. It can be DUPLICATED in the 150 thread and that way all the threads are fully valid. Lets be sensible about what we do, if threads are going to be lost, surely it is only right to ask the thread initiator before changes are made - that would be the courteous way to do things. Dave' (I presume when Dave wrote 150 Rolls Royce, he intended to write 158.) I fully support Dave, in that we should continue the WHEELS VARIATION thread and at the same time, those who post something should also make a copy to go either under an existing thread on that model, or start a new thread which can then later have other details pertaining to the model in question added. Hopefully, the Moderator can pick up on posts that should comply and request the initiator to make a copy for the appropriate model. Should this not occur within a reasonable period of time, then the Moderator would be at liberty to do so himself. This is keeping things on an orderly and well-mannered course. Bruce

Thank you Bruce I am going to ask the committee to produce some guidelines/protocols/rules for the forum to help smooth running in the future. Jacgues, in the meantime can the relevant entries removed from the 'Wheel Variations' thread be reinstated there to ensure that this thread is not devalued and that it is meaningful for us to use in the future. David, As requested, I have duplicated Ron's post about the 158 Rolls-Royce back to 'Wheel variations'. If one wants to mess up this forum, this is the best thing to do as members will not bother about duplicating these posts. If there is a good reason for a thread called 'Wheel variations', let me know, I can not find a sensible one. Remember that the commitee does not care a dam about the web site. Is there a single post from David Cooke, Michel Driver, Nelson Twells or any other ? I have been trying to help a little to improve this forum by sorting things out but if you prefer a messy one, this is exactly what you will get. While I was bussy with other matters, you have not replied to my request of two or three days ago of which other posts have to be duplicated back to wheel variations. Jacques. Bruce, I am sorry but this loosy software does not allow to copy a complete post with the name and picture of the member. If I could, be sure that I would copy it but I am always very carefull to copy the signature at the end of each post. I am probably getting too old but I can not understand all this fuss. Jacques.

I, and many others on the forum, think that the 'Wheel Variations' post is a good topic, the proof of that is how many posts there are on it from virtually all the contributors to this forum. There is absolutely nothing wrong with duplicating posts - it happened frequently on Talkmodeltoys. This site is supposed to be democratic so let us please try to please everybody. The constant criticism of the site is not in any way helpful, there was never any future in copying TMT when the DTCA site was developed and launched. Dave

Hello all, Well I agree the concernes Dave, Buzzer 999, and others have on using this site. In the last month I had contacts with several members and found they were not happy too. I have send a extensive report to the Board with suggestions for improvement and got a firm and quick answear. I understand that there is a change coming on in near future, initiated by Dave Kaun and the Board, ic Michael Driver. So there is a lot of attention for improvement of this site. Some members are working hard behind the lines and we have to respect this. Give it some time and I am sure we get a perfect site. Meanwhile keep happy collecting and feel free to post your comments as before. John Beugels.
