23j and 235 HWM Racing Car (1953-60)

Does one know why both the actual and the Dinky Toys HWM are light green and not British Racing Green?Is this light green a national colour of some country ?

Thank you for the link to the history of HWM but although it gives an interesting history of the prptotype for the Dinky 23j,
It does not answer the question.I have written directly to HWM in Walton on Thames
and hope for an answer.If I do,

All HWM race cars were painted in the same colour green which,
as you will have seen,
is lighter than the traditional British Racing Green.Jaguar traditionally raced in BRG (
or their own variant called Jaguar Racing Green
).Aston Martin
and HWM chose a lighter green (than BRG) to differentiate their cars on the track.Aston Martin Racing Green is very similar,
albeit slightly darker,
to the H.W.M.colour.If you look up a picture of the Aston Martin DBR1 race car you will see Aston Martin Racing Green.I hope this helps.Best regards Justin
