Now we know a little about the Chilean Dinky Toys, but what about the Brasilean ones ? A member of DTCA has found this yellow Cooper Climax which seem to have been made in he Dinky die. The marking has been erased and replaced by the logo of Solex Brosol. This company based in Sao Paulo is the manufacturer of the Solex carburators which are diecast in zamac. Brosol also made many castings for Solido, many of those were not issued in Europe. This raises several questions / Is this the Meccano die ? Were there other Dinky cast by Brosol. Did Meccano send the dies to Brosol to make the Chilean Dinky and later Brosol used the tools under it's own name.Any information on this subject will be most welcomed and certainly apreciated by Vincent.

Two questions: 1. Does the version with the silver helmet has a paper sticker racing number on the side, the version with the yellow helmet a transfer racing number? 2. The windows are different. Which version came first? Regards Walter

Hello Walter, The versions with the window unit that the driver sit on are the later issues (as shown by the Ferraris in my illustration). This coicides with the change to sticker decoration and all the drivers' helmets being painted silver instead of dfferent colours for each type of racer. Ron
