23c Mercedes-Benz Racing Car (1936-50) was created by janwerner
Two Mercedes Benz Racing Cars below:
This one the very first version without racing number, no rivets holding base plate, and with white driver of 1936.
And this one the very last version with coloured hubs of ... well, I am used to date post-war re-issues of pre-war models with coloured hubs and crimped axles on 1950-1952. This one perhaps 1950 only, because of the old herringbone type of 'Dinky Supertoys' tyres. But ... literature says that the die for this model was used to produce the French no. 23c, between May 1949 and 1951.Could someone help me explain?Kind regards, Jan Werner

An additional question regarding both 23c and 23d: The Richardsons, in their GBofDT, say on page 27: 23c Mercedes Benz Racing Car and 23d Auto Union Racing Car. Postwar - featured in the French catalogues but were made in England. Is there some confusion here or do they mean that in the period 1945/46-1949 only the British made ones were imported in France, followed by the distinct 'Dinky Toys France' (23c) and 'fabriqu en France' (23d) ones (Roulet p81-82) from 1949 on? Kind regards, Jan Werner
