68b Frobisher Class Airliner in Service Camouflage (1940-41)

The Frobisher was a 22 passenger version developed from the De Havilland Albatross for Imperial Airways, and first flew in 1937. Both the Albatross & the Frobisher were requisitioned by the RAF during World War 2. The Dinky Frobisher is cast in one piece with 4 engines each of which has a 3 blade propeller painted red. The undercarrage consists of 2 wheels on a small axle held between two cast legs. This version is painted in 2 colour camouflage, in this case the light version. The underside is painted a dull black and the cockpit windows are painted silver. It has 2 RAF red & blue roundels on the wings and 2 red, white & blue roundels each side of the fuselage. The wingspan is 5.7'/145mm. There is a hole in the top & bottom of the fuselage for a split pin to be used in the Gliding Game. Chris.
