62d Bristol Blenheim Bomber (Camouflaged) (1940-41) was created by Chris1
THe Bristol Blenheim Bomber was designed & built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company. The Blenheim was one of the first British aircraft with an all metal stressed-skin construction, retractable landing gear, flaps, a powered gun turret and variable pitched propellers. The Mk1 was faster than most fighters in the late 1930's but the advance in the development of monoplane fighters made it more vulnerable by the time World War 2 broke out, though it was successful as a night fighter. The Dinky Bristol Blenheim was first issued as Blenheim Bomber 62b as a one-piece casting, painted in silver. It was never issued with a gliding hole or landing gear. Later it was issued as 62d with two colour camouflage and black & white underneath. The camouflage could be either light or dark with different roundels. It had a silvered cockpit and gun turret. The Blenheim was reissued after the war as Blenheim Bomber 62b painted in silver with various roundels. All versions had two three-blade propellers, painted red.
