33/1 Mechanical Horse and Five Assorted Trailers (1935-37)

I just had the great fortune to acquire a wonderful pre-war set, that of the #33 Mechanical Horse and Five Assorted Trailers. I want to do a nice write-up for the journal with lots of pictures and some history, so this will be brief. In short, the set is in wonderful, almost like new condition, with no fatigue visible, and the box is also in great condition. Given this condition, I would have to guess it remained in the box most of its life.

Fantastic set in wonderful condition with amazingly bright colours and a stunning box too. Look forward to your full story and pics in a future journal. Don

This is a stunning set and box Terry. Thank you for showing us. I guess you won't have got it for free!
I found a different box version in my documentation, from David Cooke's collection. I believe the lid is original only, and it has been restored. Still, nice to observe these variations! Kind regards, Jan

Don and Jan--Thanks for the very nice comments. It is a very special, nice set that I was fortunate to acquire. It will be fun to do a proper writeup on it a bit later with more pictures and closeups. Terry

This set is absolutely stunning. I have resigned as the Editor for the DTCA, the October2012 issue will be my last. However, I am sure the new Editor will be delighted to get an article on this fantastic set - I have never seen one as nice. Dave
