Greetings Ron I refer to your Post in the 424 Commer Convertible Articulated Truck topic, which I have taken the liberty of reproducing hereunder: Hi all, As this is the only mention of 448, Chevrolet El-Camino pick-up with trailers I could find on the Forum, I am making this entry here. A while back on eBay, I saw this open trailer from the 448 'set'. It appears to have the top bars moulded solid. The original open slats made it very fragile. I did not bid on it as the tow-bar had been repaired or modified (badly) and I have not seen another since. Any thoughts? Ron F together with the photograph you supplied: In reply, there is mention of the 448 Chevrolet El Camino Pick-Up with Trailers in the 'Packing Piece' topic, and a photograph of my example was publishedon 15 August 2014. No wonder you could not find it. I was only able to do so by using my Excel spreadsheet with all my Posts which at that time was #66. /node/1045#comment-4070]/node/1045#comment-4070 Here is a copy of the picture I included in that Post: I have now opened this new Topic for the Chevrolet Pick-Up and Trailers. (The PDF file actually has the full title for the set, 'Chevrolet El Camino Pick-up Truck with Trailers', however Meccano in their wisdom never used this full title, preferring instead an abbreviated version!) Ron, your trailer is interesting, as my trailer above has the top bars open, so too another example I have owned, which I later sold when the boxed example came my way. I am wondering if that example you saw might have been as a result of the mould filling up, or a 'one off'. Perhaps a similar trailer may yet turn up in better condition! The following is an image of my 448 boxed set partially showing the rear of the first trailer. I will endeavour to re-photograph the trailer at some time in the future. Kind regards Bruce H. If anyone requires new 'Acme Trailer Hire' transfers for this model, they are now available from BLACK SQUARE DECALS, very reasonable price and very well made. Kevin.
