Gosh, that is quite a collection of transporters. Can you please inform us about the variations on the 974 AEC and the 983 Leyland ?

Hi Jacques Only minor variations on the AEC, several colour shades on the trailer. The major variations are on the cab,

The 983 Car Carriers are all the same.

Since the photo's were taken I have chemically stripped the most playworn version and sent it to the UK to be refurbished as a Code 3 Auto Transporters 989 with Trailer.

I now display the code 3 next to my original 989 Transporter. Bizarrely enough I have picked up two 989's on our local auction site here in NZ for comparatively little money.

Original 989's have a decal guide cast into the side of the carrier to locate the Auto Transporters signage.

I am very sorry that I did not thank you for the pictures of your car transporters but I have been extremely busy recently until now, I have had no time to deal with this pictures. Having only one of these transporters, I was not aware of the four different colours for the ch
