Post war toyshop? Any pictures out there ?

I have searched and searched the internet,but no luck.Has anybody got a picture of a post war toyshop with Dinky's galore for sale and on Display ? The nearest is the Dinky catalogue with the schoolboys pointing at the window. My Dad now in his late Sixties still remembers his local stationers in a very small Yorkshire market town used to open his back room prior to Christmas and the owner gave it over filling it full of Dinky Toys for sale. Just a little bit of nostalgia

I used to be the editor of the DTCA Journal
and I asked the same question twice but the response was absolutely nothing.I have never seen such images in the magazines such as Model Collector
or Diecast Collector.I do have a photograph of a pre - war display [img] / images / sites / default / files / old - forum - images / Coopers_Window_Display.jpg [/img] It was not a toy shop at all but a delicatessen in Liverpool called Coopers,
they must have done something with Meccano.Dave

Not exactly a toyshop but a wonderful,
and evocative postwar image,
this was the Dinky Toys stand at the 1953 British Industries Fair in London: [img] / images / sites / default / files / old - forum - images / BIF_Exhibition_1953.jpg [/img] It was strictly a trade fair but it is a fabulous display of Dinky Toys,
Meccano also had other exhibits featuring Hornby Railways
and Meccano.Dave

I only just noticed that both Weetabix
and Spratts Guy vans are present.Before getting oddites like the supertoy hubs Slumberland I always thought that the older model was deleted before the new one came along,
so it ' s good to see them together.On the main subject how I wish I had pictures of the Dinky shops of my youth ! This is Stratford House Antiques in Broad Street Birmingham,
it was demolished to make the loading bay for the NIA,

Yes,
isn ' t it nice ? The large models on the left are by Schuco.I had the lowest,
darker two - seater cabriolet myself,
and there is more Schuco in the picture.Expensive stuff that was ! Regards,

well done for finding this one.Interesting to see the mix of UK
and French Dinky Toys in Amsterdam.Decisions,
decisions for those boys looking into the window.Also that poor Berliet transformer box lid appears to be struggling under the weight of the Daimler Ambulance
and Berliet Low Loader with it ' s transformer ! !
