Picked this up recently here in NZ. An unusual find, in extraordinary condition for an Octogenarian.

Very nice find and in apparently wonderful condition......I don't even see any obvious signs of fatigue. Well done!

Now have a look at this nightmare.... three bugatti's sawn into bits. Is there any hope? Suggested as a comparison between such a nice condition example and probably some of the worst.

The title of this thread should be : '26 - Railcar' and certainly NOT Bugatti. The error of naming this model Bugatti originates in the Meccano catalogue of 1937. The same error appears in some pre war English Meccano magazines. The closest prototype for this model is a Renault railcar but the Dinky is far from an exact replica of the the Renault type ADX.There are not less than two different castings, six casting variations and ten colour combinations. These are cast in lead including the wheels and then there is no fatigue. This model has been exported to UK in 1937 - 1938.
